Psychological testing is a thoughtful, in-depth way of understanding how you think, feel, and experience the world. It goes beyond a single appointment or quick questionnaire, using carefully selected assessments and clinical expertise to help make sense of long-standing questions, patterns, or challenges. For many people, testing provides something deeply relieving: clear answers, accurate language for their experiences, and a path forward that finally fits
Before you decide on testing - it's a good idea to think about your: mood and emotional responses, thoughts, sleep and diet, communication, energy, thinking and memory, behavior, and functioning at home, work, school, or relationships. How have these things changed? Do the changes impact your ability to function? How intense are the changes and how long do they last? Have you tried anything to alleviate your distress?
Choosing to pursue psychological testing as an adult can be a meaningful step toward understanding how you experience the world—and how your thoughts, mood, and behaviors shape your relationships. It offers space to explore your personal history and how it connects to your current life at work, school, home, and in social settings. Many people come away with a renewed sense of self-understanding, recognizing their resilience, insight, and strength. Testing can also bring awareness to sources of ongoing stress or unhelpful patterns, but you won’t be left alone with that information. The process is designed to support you, offering clarity, guidance, and resources that make growth and healing feel possible.
At Noir Psychology, online testing services are intentionally designed to be flexible, thorough, and affirming. The practice is welcoming to neurodivergent individuals, Black clients, people of color, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community, with care that honors lived experience and identity.
Psychological testing helps determine a diagnosis for mood, anxiety, trauma, personality, or psychotic disorders. The tests I choose will be unique to your specific needs. Below is the overall structure of the online testing process I use. Keep in mind that this process is highly collaborative and flexible. I'm able to accommodate or customize to match your needs.
Initial Consultation (15 minutes)
We'll have a brief phone conversation to discuss your needs and determine if my services can be helpful. If we decide to move forward - we'll schedule an online testing time. If you have medical or mental health records for my review please let me know during our call.
Comprehensive Clinical Interview (60-90 minutes)
In a clinical interview I'll be asking you questions about your medical, mental health, school, and family history. We'll explore your current concerns and how they've impacted your life. I'll also ask about any risk factors for harming yourself or others.
Online Testing (3-5 hours)
You’ll be administered a variety of structured mood and personality questionnaires, self-report checklists, and other cognitive tasks. Everything can be done at your own pace and it's important to complete them in privacy and without distraction. Afterwards, I'll score, review, and analyze your answers.
Feedback Session (60 minutes)
During your feedback session we'll go over your results and potential diagnosis. It's important that we take time to review any of your questions and my recommendations. Afterwards, you’ll receive a comprehensive written report that highlights your strengths, testing results, diagnostic impressions, and contact information.
Taking Your Mental Health Needs to the Next Level
Prioritizing yourself may feel uncomfortable at first, but once you do, things have a way of transforming themselves in your life. Once you have a grasp of what is happening in your life with a diagnosis - you can find the right therapy to restore your power and recalibrate your mind. My goal at Noir Psychology is to provide you with warmth, non-judgmental curiosity, and quality testing services that leave no stone unturned.
